OUR PARTNERSHIP
American Industrial Partners is an operationally-oriented middle market private equity firm that is distinctively focused on buying and improving industrial businesses with operations in the U.S., Canada, and other developed markets. The AIP Team has deep roots in the industrial economy and has been active in private equity investing across three economic cycles. AIP has completed over 125 platform and add-on acquisitions and invests in all forms of corporate divestitures, management buyouts, recapitalizations, and going-private transactions of established businesses with sales greater than $500 million.
OUR CAPITAL BASE
American Industrial Partners manages approximately $10.0 billion of private equity capital on behalf of its limited partners. Our diverse partnership group comprises many of leading global institutional investors including public and corporate pension plans, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, fund of funds, foundations, university endowments and other private and public funds. In addition, all AIP partners invest meaningfully in each of our funds and in every transaction.
OUR APPROACH
The Partners of American Industrial Partners have diverse backgrounds with complementary operating, industrial technology, and financial expertise. AIP investment professionals have individual expertise in operating and technical areas including quality systems, product development and planning, aftermarket growth, engineering effectiveness, global manufacturing and procurement, equipment effectiveness, plant greenfields and consolidations, ERP implementations, and project management. For decades, AIP has continuously updated and expanded upon its areas of operating experience and has specifically augmented capabilities across a range of “Industry 4.0” disciplines: automation and robotics, Software as a Service (“SAAS”), Internet of Things (“IoT”), additive manufacturing (“3D Printing”), operations research disciplines, and enhanced data analytics, which are increasingly relevant as the digital economy becomes more integrated with industrial manufacturing and services companies.
