Akron, Ohio, September 1, 2010 – Micro-Poise Measurement Systems, LLC, the leading manufacturer of precision test and measurement equipment for the tire and automobile industries, announced today that it has acquired the assets of COLLMANN Tire Systems & Services GmbH of Lübeck, Germany.
COLLMANN is a leading European company for measurement equipment with a product line that will compliment that of Micro-Poise in terms of Uniformity, Dynamic Balance, and Geometry Systems, with the addition of a line of Tire X-Ray systems. Included in the acquisition will be the addition of COLLMANN’s unique technologies and related products.
This new wholly-owned entity, COLLMANN GmbH, will operate as a division of Micro-Poise. Micro-Poise will support the COLLMANN GmbH product line globally. There will be no interruption of sales or service. In fact, COLLMANN GmbH aftermarket sales and service will be expanded through the Micro-Poise global sales and service network. Micro-Poise offers the largest tire test and measurement direct sales force in the world and is supported by an extensive, trained service and extended distribution network.
The key new product now offered by Micro-Poise will be the COLLMANN VerTiX line of high precision tire X-ray equipment. VerTiX offers a unique, proprietary Automatic Data Recognition (ADR) software system for precise X-ray imagery. The ADR system was developed by JoVision UG of Hamburg, Germany, and is under exclusive license to COLLMANN GmbH. VerTiX can be added to the Micro-Poise Modular Tire Measurement Systems (MTMS) designed to optimize the tire measurement process for uniformity and dynamic balance measurements providing one package to final finish.
According to Steven Harris, CEO of Micro-Poise, “We are very excited about the opportunity to now offer our customers high precision tire X-ray capabilities in addition to our core test and measurement systems. At Micro-Poise, we are always searching for new technologies to keep us at the forefront of the test and measurement industry. This acquisition strengthens our global presence for sales and aftermarket support in an ever-changing marketplace.”
